For over twenty years In the Best Interest of the Children (IBIC) has provided an educational seminar in South Georgia as a support to families who are experiencing divorce. Per the order the class is required for parties experiencing divorce as well as parties in all separate maintenance, paternity, changes of custody, visitation, legitimation and other domestic relations actions where the interests of children under 18 years of age are involved.
IBIC is a class designed to help you and your former spouse understand some of the feelings that you and your child are experiencing during the process of divorce. More importantly the class will help you understand the critical role you and your former spouse will play in helping your child heal from the hurt caused by the break-up of your marriage.
During the presentation the following objectives will be discussed:
Per the order the class is required for parties experiencing divorce as well as parties in all separate maintenance, paternity, changes of custody, visitation, legitimation and other domestic relations actions where the interests of children under 18 years of age are involved.
Registration/Payment must be received by 5 PM on the day before the class for online classes.
You can walk in the day of the in-person classes or you can register and pay online for the in-person classes. If you register and pay online for the in-person classes be sure to bring the email you receive as proof.
When you sign up for the class you will be taken to a form that will allow you to pay via credit card or debit card for both online and in-person classes.
You may also pay via cash or money order for the in-person class.
Yes, classes are done through the website which can be accessed on any WiFi-capable device. Please be sure that you have a dependable WiFi connection.
The in-person classes are held in Valdosta at the Lowndes County Law Enforcement Complex - Courtroom A.
When you are attending the online class, the maximum amount of people who can attend at once is limited to 200 participants. For the in-person classes, participation is not limited.
Once registration has been completed, you'll receive an email containing the login information.

During the session, you will view the instructor and the content in real-time - this is not a recorded session.
You will also be visible to the instructor and must be present (and visible) for the duration of the class. we won't award a certificate of attendance if that condition is not met.
It is recommended that you minimize distractions and to ensure better sound quality, please consider using headphones or earbuds.
You must attend the class and fill out the evaluation form to receive your certificate. You will receive a password to access the page at the end of the class.
If you attend online you will find the link for the evaluation form at the bottom of the Home page. Fill out the evaluation form and you will receive the certificate through email.
If you attend the in-person class you will receive the certificate at the end of the class.
